Hi, my name is Chumsy and I’ll be predicting every English Premier League game this season.

In my 20th year as an Arsenal fan, it’s an honor to host the PREDICTION CORNER. Every Gameweek, I shall go head to head with one or two members of the AFO community and we will predict all the games for that Gameweek.

Darit and Don-X are my guests for Premier League predictions on Gameweek 6.

For Darit, it all started with Oliver Kahn, “I loved to watch all his matches because I learned from his goalkeeping skills as I am one. I would follow my brother to watch some England games, that’s where I started following Henry, but I officially joined and started supporting Arsenal since our champions league semi-final match against Villarreal in 2006 when Jens Lehman saved penalties; my love for Henry and Jens’ good goalkeeping skills made me become a gunner till date.”

Darit’s best Arsenal moment was Arsenal’s 2:0 away win to Milan AC. His worst moment was out 8-2 loss to Manchester United.

Don-X loved Arsenal because of Thierry Henry… “I started supporting Arsenal because of their style of play and entertaining football. Lots of reasons why I love and support Arsenal but those are just the main points. It’s been 18years of ups and downs but the invisible season all day, every day, remains my best Arsenal moment. On the other hand, the carling cup loss against Birmingham in 2011 was my worst moment. I was so eager for us to end the trophy drought and we couldn’t; I was literally heartbroken.”

CHUMSY’S PREDICTIONS FOR WEEK 6

A correct result (picking a win, draw, or defeat) is worth 10 points. The exact score earns 30 points.

CHUMSY’S FORECAST

Friday 23 October 2020

Aston Villa vs Leeds United, 8 pm

Aston Villa is the only premier league team currently with a 100% record. Although Leeds have given teams a run for their money, I expect Aston Villa to continue their fine form.

Chumsy: 2-0

Darit: 3-2

Don-X: 2-1

Saturday 24 October 2020

West Ham United vs Manchester City, 12.30 pm

The Hammers seem to have picked themselves up after the home defeat in GW1; they even gave Arsenal a good fight in GW2. The Citizens, on the other hand, haven’t had a really convincing game this season. That notwithstanding, I believe the experience will play a great part in this match.
Chumsy: 0-2

Darit: 1-2

Don-X: 1-3

Fulham vs Crystal Palace, 3pm

A home win would be very precious for Fulham, they are yet to win a premier league game this season but they don’t seem to create a lot of chances in games and Palace looks like the more settled team.
Chumsy: 0-2

Darit: 1-3

Don-X: 1-1

Manchester United vs Chelsea, 5.30pm

There was a time fans looked forward to this fixture. I can’t say if that’s the case now because both teams have had mixed results and haven’t been posted the threat they used to. However, Manchester United should do enough to leave with 3 points in the bag.
Chumsy: 3-2

Darit: 3-1

Don-X: 2-2

Liverpool vs Sheffield United, 8pm

The Reds lost their first-choice goalkeeper, now it’s their first choice defender. While it may affect the team’s performance long term, it shouldn’t be much of a problem against a Sheffield side struggling to fix their team.
Chumsy: 3-0

Darit: 2-0

Don-X: 2-1

Sunday 25 October 2020

Southampton vs Everton, 3PM

No disrespect to the Saints, but the Toffees shouldn’t have any issues winning this game. Midfield sensation James Rodriguez may not be fit to play but his team’s unbeaten run should continue past at least this fixture.
Chumsy: 1-3

Darit: 2-4

Don-X: 1-1

Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Newcastle United, 5.30pm

Wolves seem to have found their feet a bit. Their performance hasn’t been marvelous, but the same can also be said about Newcastle. This game is definitely down to who wants it more.
Chumsy: 2-1

Darit: 1-1

Don-X: 2-0

Arsenal vs Leicester City, 8.15pm

Since the gunners played the beautiful game in GW1, performance hasn’t been top-notch. But there’s a sense of joy from the fans who believe Partey would bring stability to the midfield. Leicester appeared to be out of ideas against Aston Villa. I don’t think they would offer much against Arsenal.
Chumsy: 2-1

Darit: 3-1

Don-X: 2-1

Monday 26 October 2020

Brighton & Hove Albion vs West Bromwich Albion, 6.30 pm

Although Brighton has won one PL game this season, both teams still don’t do enough to kill their opponents. I feel this game may not offer much
Chumsy: 0-0

Darit: 1-0

Don-X: 2-1

Burnley vs Tottenham Hotspur, 9pm

The premier league doesn’t fail to amaze us. From leading 3-0 to finishing 3-3, Tottenham blew their lead against West Ham. Barring another surprise, the Spurs should win this.
Chumsy: 1-2

Darit: 0-2

Don-X: 1-3

Let’s see who wins the week. Good luck Mates!

GW6 was a close affair

Darit finished tops in GW6 with 60 points from one correct score and three correct results.

He was closely followed by Don-X who got 50 points from one correct score and two correct results.

Chumsy finished bottom with 40 points
