Hi, my name is Chumsy and I’ll be predicting every English Premier League game this season.

In my 20th year as an Arsenal fan, it’s an honor to host the PREDICTION CORNER. Every Gameweek, I shall go head to head with one or two members of the AFO community and we will predict all the games for that Gameweek.

Welcome back to club football, feels like we’ve been away for a year. Arsenal Baby and Chidi-George are my guests for Gameweek 5.

Arsenal Baby has been supporting Arsenal for 18 years.

“I started supporting Arsenal in 2002 because of Patrick Vieira, then my football coach told me to watch the EPL games that weekend, he said I should watch the man whose wing I was also playing. That weekend, Arsenal was the first to play. I loved how vibrant Vieira was on the pitch and how entertaining Arsenal played, I fell in love with Arsenal immediately, that I didn’t have to check out the other clubs”.

Her best Arsenal moment was Arsenal’s unbeaten season while her worst moment was when we lost to Barca in the UCL finals and when we lost to Chelsea in the UEL finals; she cried for a week when the latter happened.

CHUMSY’S PREDICTIONS FOR WEEK 5

CHUMSY’S PREDICTIONS for GAMEWEEK 5

A correct result (picking a win, draw, or defeat) is worth 10 points. The exact score earns 30 points.

CHUMSY’S FORECAST

Saturday 17 October 2020

Everton vs Liverpool, 12.30 pm

Many expected Everton to challenge this season and they haven’t disappointed. They don’t only score goals, they play well too and they would definitely give Liverpool a run for their money. It would be interesting to see how the Reds respond after that humiliation against Aston Villa.

Chumsy: 3-2

Arsenal Baby: 2-2

Chidi-George: 2-2

Chelsea vs Southampton, 3 pm

Chelsea’s new boys will gradually adapt to life in London but this fixture should not be much of a problem to the Blues. Southampton have been reliant on Ings and I don’t think that would be enough to get a point at the Bridge

Chumsy: 2-1

Arsenal Baby: 3-1

Chidi-George: 3-1

Manchester City vs Arsenal, 5.30 pm

Manchester City played badly against Leeds but we would definitely see a different City at Home. Partey should bring stability in the midfield. I feel Arsenal should have signed an attacking midfielder too but they’ll do with what’s available. Arsenal still struggles to win away against the established top 6 teams but this fixture could be different.

Chumsy: 1-3

Arsenal Baby: 1-2

Chidi-George: 1-2

Newcastle United vs Manchester United, 8 pm

Both teams have blown hot and cold this season and this game could go either way but I feel Newcastle would edge this one.

Chumsy: 2-1

Arsenal Baby: 1-1

Chidi-George: 0-2

Sunday 18 October 2020

Sheffield United vs Fulham, 12noon

The clash of the bottom two should be fun to watch, hopefully. Sheffield played good football last season but has struggled to find their feet this season. Fulham needs to win games like this to fight for survival and remain in the premier league.

Chumsy: 1-2

Arsenal Baby: 2-1

Chidi-George: 1-1

Crystal Palace vs Brighton & Hove Albion, 2 PM

Palace couldn’t respond against an organized Chelsea team. But against Manchester United and Everton, they showed real confidence in their capabilities. This should be a home win

Chumsy: 1-0

Arsenal Baby: 2-1

Chidi-George: 1-1

Tottenham Hotspur vs West Ham United, 4.30 pm

West Ham is definitely buzzing from back to back premier league wins while scoring 7 times and keeping clean sheets. But their next game is against fellow Londoners and it won’t be an easy game. The North London club should come out tops.

Chumsy: 3-1

Arsenal Baby: 2-1

Chidi-George: 3-1

Leicester City vs Aston Villa, 7.15 pm

Aston Villa is one of two clubs yet to draw or lose a premier league game this season, producing an almost perfect display against Liverpool in the process. Leicester will look to bounce back to winning ways in this game, putting the Irons hitting behind them

Chumsy: 2-1

Arsenal Baby: 2-2

Chidi-George: 3-2

Monday 19 October 2020

West Bromwich Albion vs Burnley, 5.30 pm

West Brom play good football but struggle to keep up even in games they’ve played well. Burnley on the other hand, are yet to get a point in their opening 3 games and I don’t see that changing against West Brom

Chumsy: 1-0

Arsenal Baby: 2-2

Chidi-George: 1-0

Leeds United vs Wolverhampton Wanderers, 8 pm

Leeds put up a fight against Liverpool and Manchester City and would be looking forward to this game. While I feel Leeds would give an exciting performance, I still feel Wolves would get an away win.

Chumsy: 1-2

Arsenal Baby: 3-2

Chidi-George: 2-2

Let’s see who wins the week. Good luck Mates!

Arsenal Baby got one correct score and one correct result to finish with 40 points while Chidi-George got one correct result and three correct scores becoming the first AFO guest to score 100 points.
