Hi, my name is Chumsy and I’ll be giving Premier League predictions this season.

In my 21st year as an Arsenal fan, it’s an honour to host the PREDICTION CORNER. Every gameweek, I shall go head to head with one or two members of the AFO community and we will predict all the games for that gameweek.

Another new face joins me for gameweek 33, he’s JSP.

JSP celebrates his silver jubilee of being an Arsenal fan this year (1996 – date). He said, “I love Arsenal because of the philosophy and tradition that comes with the club. I started supporting Arsenal because of the prestige that came with the club, my family and the style of play”.

Reaching the UCL Final in 2006 was his best Arsenal moment and losing the same Final in 2006 was his worst moment as an Arsenal fan.

Arsenal against the Toffees

CHUMSY (AND GUESTS) PREMIER LEAGUE PREDICTION for GAMEWEEK 33

A correct result (picking a win, draw, or defeat) is worth 10 points. The exact score earns 30 points.

CHUMSY’S FORECAST

Arsenal vs Everton is always an exciting fixture. I’ve gone for an Everton win, not because the Gunners don’t stand a chance but because of their upcoming Europa League fixture against Villarreal. I believe Mikel would prioritise the midweek game as it’s Arsenal’s best bet of not just getting into Europe, but into the Champions League.
1-2

Liverpool vs Newcastle is another fixture that shouldn’t disappoint. The Reds have struggled to score goals and while Newcastle would push had to secure their almost guaranteed safety, I feel the home team can pull the right strings and get a win.
3-1

West Ham has been a surprise package this season and David Moyes’ quest to play in Europe next season is still on track; it could even be in the champions league. Just like Arsenal, I feel Chelsea may rest players as they prepare for their champions league fixture. This is also another game where Jesse Lingard would likely make a statement.
2-1

Sheffield United vs Brighton and Hove Albion
Down but not out. Sheffield’s return to the championship might have been confirmed but they still have opportunities to get another win or a draw. Brighton plays so well yet struggle to win games. This could yet be another of those days.
1-1

Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Burnley
Both teams are really a beauty when they are at their best, then next minute, you have teams that play boring football and can’t keep the ball on the ground. Don’t know which team to expect.
1-1

Leeds United vs Manchester United
I don’t think there’d be a shock defeat to another Manchester club in the hands of Leeds. In fact, I feel Manchester United would get a convincing win even though they struggle in games at the early stage.
1-3

Aston Villa vs West Brom
Like I’ve said before, there’d be no happy ending for Big Sam this season.
This should be a comfortable home win for Villa.
3-0

Leicester vs Crystal Palace
A couple of months back, I watched the premier league review where Vardy and Maddison were injured and the pundit said “Kelechi sadly won’t be able to fill their boots.” Well, I hope he eats his words. Kelechi has really proved doubters wrong and Vary is firing again on all cylinders. Their firepower should be able to subdue any threats from Palace.
3-0

JSP

Hopefully, there wouldn’t be a repeat of a horrifying Arsenal performance from their last game, hopefully, they take advantage of Everton’s inconsistencies. Everton hasn’t won in their last 5 EPL games and irrespective of Arsenal Injury worries I see an Arsenal victory. Since Arsenal cannot stop conceding, I see 2-1 in favour of Arsenal
Arsenal 2-1 Everton

Despite losing to a resilient Brighton a couple of weeks ago, a draw against Tottenham, a tough victory away at Burnley and a hard fought 3-2 win at St Jame’s Park makes Newcastle a threat to a struggling Liverpool this season who will try to shake off the terrible 1 point they picked up against Leeds United.
This is quite tight as Newcastle has more to lose in this fixture.
Liverpool 2-2 Newcastle

A London derby is always a very tough fixture not to talk about a West London derby. Westham will want to shake off their loss against Newcastle at home to Chelsea has also been very inconsistent in their last 5 EPL games and with both teams on 55 points having played 32 games each, this is a fixture to watch.
Westham 3-2 Chelsea

Brighton has more to look out for in this fixture. An away victory for Burnley puts Graham Potter’s side on 37 points and a possible 14th position.
Sheffield 1-2 Brighton

After taking 3 points away to Fulham and at home to Sheffield United, this is another opportunity for Wolves to stretch their winning streak to 3. Burnley may look like a team that wants it more just to get clear off the relegation zone. Wolves haven’t been scoring as they used to as well so I see a possible draw in this fixture.
Wolves 1-1 Burnley

Leeds have taken 11 points from a possible 15 in their last 5 fixtures while Manchester United is looking like a team desperate to win all the EPL games they have left. This is going to be another very interesting fixture with a lot of goals.
Leeds 2-3 Manchester United

Without a doubt, Aston Villa has been one of the most exciting and surprising teams this season. Despite winning 1 in their last 5 games, they look like clear favourites in this fixture and even though West Brom shocked Chelsea and Southampton a couple of weeks ago, Leicester reminded them of their place in the EPL and I see Aston Villa putting a stamp to it as well.
Aston Villa 3-1 West Brom

If there is one player that is on super form right now, it is Kelechi Iheanacho and he looks like scoring in every fixture. With him and Vardy upfront, I dont see Crystal Palace coming out of this one alive. Leicester will be hoping to comfortably retain their number 3 spot by winning against one of the most inconsistent EPL teams in the last decade.
Leicester 3-0 Crystal Palace
