Gunners play host to Sheffield United at the Emirates: The Gunners vs The Blades
After facing Liverpool two times in four days at Anfield, the Gunners play host to Sheffield United at the Emirates on Sunday. Sheffield were the breakout team last season, finishing the 2019/2020 season in the top half of the table. Despite the scintillating form last season, the blades have failed to score a single goal in the premier leagues this term, the only team yet to do so. Sheffield United have also failed to earn a single point in their three matches already played this season.
Recall that Sheffield defeated Arsenal in their encounter last season, Blades would fancy their chances once again.
The Gunners have won two of their three games, keeping a clean sheet in the first match against newcomers Fulham, losing only recently to Liverpool on Monday night.
Despite being goal-shy this season, Sheffield’s attacking prowess is not in doubt owing to their perceived over achievement last season, it is only a matter of time before the team gets itself together and starting their goal-scoring ambitions.
Arsenal on the other hand has scored in every encounter this season finding the net 6 times in 3 games. We expect Arsenal’s fine goal scoring will continue against the struggling blades.
Arsenal will have the large share of the ball on Sunday, the Blades have to be very careful in transitions as Arsenal counter-attack has been one of their best strength ever since Arteta took over the North London side. Sheffield’s best chance at the game is also through Counter attacks and their resolute wing-backs in Enda Stevens and George Baldock. Arsenal defensive discipline will also be put to test with Pacey striker Oliver Burke and Blades veteran Billy Sharp.
Despite the Blades potential threats, their bad run of form will affect their display at the Emirates and we expect and al round display from the Gunners. Sheffield may have no chance against the Arsenal team on Sunday. No matter what the scoreline is, we are guaranteed a 90 minute of total football display and a lot of attempt to spice up the all-round game of football.
Arsenal to win 3-0
Predicted Starting line up.
A familiar team is expected to start for Arsenal on Sunday, with Gabriel solid display yet again on Thursday, the Brazilian is fast becoming fans favorite, we expect him to start on Sunday maybe in the company of his compatriot David Luiz at the heart of defence.
The game against Liverpool showed Arsenal creative certainties with Elneny and Xhaka struggling to create any meaningful chances, we, therefore, expect Dani Ceballos to start ahead of the Egyptian.
