Arsenal : The FA Cup GOAT

Arsenal look to continue their recent fine form as they defend their FA Cup against Newcastle at the Emirates Stadium

It does seem like a long week for Arsenal yeah? with the frustrating 2020 past in the life of Mikel Arteta’s team. Arsenal have recorded three straight wins with the Boxing Day K.O against Chelsea winning 3-1, 0-1 to Brighton & Hove Albion on the 29th of December, and 0-4 against West Bromwich Albion a day after New Year’s Day, and they wish to continue this run in the FA Cup 3rd round match against the Magpies.

Arsenal might go for a mix of Senior Players and some youth to give a little bit of flavor and hunger. It promises to be a game where some old legs could want to rest and give support and morale boost from the bench, but by no means whatsoever, should the F.A Cup be downgraded or discounted this season. It means much to supporters and could give Arsenal a route back to Europe and also, 14 titles in the competition is a testament for Arsenal as Kings of the FA Cup.

Arsenal have progressed and won four of our last five matches against Newcastle in the Emirates FA Cup, most recently a 3 – 0 win in 2007/2008.

Meanwhile, Newcastle, six times winner of the F.A cup {haven’t won since 1955} will be hoping to find their rhythm after losing to Manchester City in the quarter-finals of the competition last season.

It will be expected that Steve Bruce, the Magpies manager make no change in his starting XI unlike other clubs in the competition, the Newcastle manager hasn’t been able to help his team find form in Europe this season {in the English top flight} it is on note that the team hasn’t won a single game across all competitions played since December 12th.

Thomas Partey: will be available for selection after his injury sustained against Aston-Villa last year.

Gabriel Magalhaes: will also be available after being sidelined for 3 weeks

There may be some change in the starting XI for the home team as players like Alex Runarsson, Dani Ceballos, Cedric Soares, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Gabriel Martinelli, and Joe Willock can all start.

Jamal Lascelles is a doubt after effect of Corona Virus.

Isaac Hayden is available after a one-match suspension.

Martin Dubravka, Paul Dummet, Dwight Gayle, Jeff Hendrick, Javi Maquillo could all come into the team, there could also be spots for players like Jonjo Shelvey and Jacob Murphy.

Arsenal possible starting lineup:

Runarsson; Cedric, Gabriel, Luiz, Maitland-Niles; Partey, Ceballos; Martinelli, Willock, Pepe; Nketiah

In the last three matches, we have been on upward confidence. I believe Arsenal will have the team to go through to the next round.

Arsenal 3 – 0 Newcastle

Hopeful there’d be no Thomas, and Arsenal can Partey all over the Castle.
